# Session Logs & PDF Export

To ensure seamless documentation of your collaboration, the platform offers both intelligent automatic saving and a flexible export function. This allows you to stay focused on your content while the technology handles the backup for you.

# Intelligent Saving

Your work is secure at all times. All session progress is saved fully automatically in the background.

To permanently lock a session's current state and protect it from subsequent changes, you can adjust the session status. Since participants can access content asynchronously (at any time), manual saving within the system is not required.

Status Management

For more information on audit-proof archiving and revisions, please refer to the chapter Session States.

# Creating PDF Exports

For external archiving or sharing with individuals who do not have system access, you can export any session as a professional PDF document.

In the context of recurring collaboration, you can also grant participants permanent access to sessions, which often makes manual exporting unnecessary.

# How to Start the Export

There are two ways to open the export dialog:

  1. Via the Main Menu:
In the control area (top left), click the menu item "Print Session (PDF)".
  2. Directly in the Workspace:
Next to the session name in the header, click the button:
    print "Print Session".

# Configuration and Process

Once you initiate the export, a preparation dialog will appear. Here you can customize the document to suit your needs:

  • Orientation: Choose between Portrait (ideal for text-heavy logs) or Landscape (optimal for wide, detailed tools and whiteboards).
  • Additional Content: Decide whether to include the chat history or if you only wish to output the graphical tool content.

# The Browser Print Dialog

After confirming your settings, your browser's standard print dialog will open. To generate a file, select "Save as PDF" as the destination. On Windows systems, if this option is unavailable, you can use "Microsoft Print to PDF".

When using Firefox, please check the "More settings" section. The scaling should be set to "Fit to page width" to guarantee an optimal visual layout.

# Best Practices & Technical Notes

Connection During Printing

Modern browsers prioritize the printing process and often pause background scripts. This may cause the live connection to the server to drop briefly.

Our Recommendation: We recommend creating the PDF export after the active session has concluded. Should the connection be interrupted, simply reload the page to restore it.
