If your audio transmission/video transmission is not working, this can have various causes.

# My microphone is not working

Please proceed as follows:

  • Check whether your headset is muted. Some headsets usually have a mute switch for this purpose.

  • Have you activated audio transmission in the session? You can recognize this by the icons in the blue box at the top left of the session.

  • Have you muted your microphone in the session? You can recognize this by the small microphone icon next to your profile picture in the session.

  • Does your microphone generally work? You can find this out using an online service, for example. You can search for “test microphone” on the Internet.

  • Please check whether the audio and video settings in the session dialog are configured correctly. You can access this dialog via the gear icon in the blue box at the top left of the session. Here you can select various devices and test them at the same time. Please note the tooltips displayed.

  • Has the device approval been confirmed by the browser? Checking this approval works differently for all browsers. When activating the camera or microphone for the first time, a pop-up dialog appears in the browser. This indicates that an attempt is being made to access the camera or microphone. Have you clicked on “Allow” or “OK” in these dialogs? You can change the saved setting in your browser settings.

  • Does your browser support the functionalities of the platform? Have you installed the latest updates? The best performance is provided by Chromium-based browsers such as “Google Chrome” or “Edge Chromium”.

  • Do you use software for the virtual workplace environment, such as “Citrix”? This software can prevent transmission.

  • Have you installed a firewall, anti-virus protection or similar software that blocks the functionalities?

# My video is not being transmitted

  • Is your camera generally working? You can find this out using an online service, for example. You can do this by searching for “Test webcam” on the Internet.
